Specific Need
The Junction City Arts Council is excited to participate in the Greater Geary Community Foundation Match Day for a number of compelling reasons.
- At its core, the Council is dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals in our community through the power of the arts. To achieve this mission, funds are needed year-round to sustain and expand our programs, particularly art classes catering to both children and adults. These classes provide a creative outlet, foster artistic expression, and promote cultural enrichment among our diverse population.
- One of our most exciting developments is the near completion of the new Education Building within the historic CL Hoover Opera House in Junction City. This facility will house the Council's new office and art studio, where aspiring artists can hone their skills and ignite their imaginations. However, outfitting this space with essential items like office furniture, art tables and chairs, and storage shelving requires financial support beyond our regular budget.
Supporting the arts is not merely about fostering creativity; it's about enhancing lives. Art has the power to inspire, heal, and unify communities. By contributing to the Junction City Arts Council during the Greater Geary Community Foundation Match Day, you're not only investing in the arts but also in the well-being and cultural vibrancy of our community. Your support ensures that art remains accessible to all and that our new art studio becomes a hub of inspiration for generations to come.
Mission
The Junction City Arts Council was founded for the purpose of bringing together individuals and organizations interested in the promotion and development of all forms of art and culture in Junction City and Geary County. We continue to pursue this vision.
