Mission

The purpose of the Dorothy Bramlage Public Library Foundation is to raise awareness of the services and benefits of the Dorothy Bramlage Public Library, organize persons who are interested in promoting and maintaining the use and wellbeing of the library , and to raise funds to support the library for the expansion of collections, services, and facilities. 

Profile

Our vision is to create a 21st-century library designed around the people of Geary County—a modern civic space that serves as one of the most important pieces of community infrastructure in our county. A new library will provide the space and flexibility needed for children to learn, families to connect, students to succeed, adults to develop new skills, and community organizations to gather and collaborate. It will include dedicated spaces for children and teens, technology and learning, quiet study, meetings, programs, creativity, and community connection, while improving accessibility and creating a welcoming environment for everyone.

But this project is about much more than a building. A strong library strengthens the entire community by providing free access to information, technology, education, workforce resources, cultural experiences, and connections to essential services. Libraries are trusted civic spaces where people can learn, participate in community life, find support, and build relationships.

A new library will allow us to expand these services rather than simply trying to fit more into our existing space. It will give Geary County a place that can adapt as our community grows and its needs change. Like the best libraries across the country, our goal is to create a lasting civic investment—a place that belongs to everyone and strengthens our community for generations to come.
