Fresh Start Emergency Shelter

Goal: $30,000.00

Specific Need

Our specific need is to open our doors to night service for those in the community who are homeless and need a safe place to sleep. Your financial support will help us with overnight staff and overhead costs.  We also appreciate volunteers and material support of gently used or new items, and food or meals to reduce our food costs.

Mission

Fresh Start's mission is to help individuals and families facing homelessness with temporary, emergency shelter, while connecting them to supportive and essential services with our collaborating partners in the community.  Our vision is to build the bridge between those who need help with those that can help.  We serve all people with dignity and respect, and without discrimination.

Profile

We are currently working toward the goal of once again becoming a 24/7 shelter for those experiencing homelessness.  We currently offer meals, showers, laundry, clothing and hygiene items to participants, along with case management services that build relationships with individuals and families in a homeless but not hopeless situation.  Our goal is to end homelessness by bringing program participants and our collaborating partners together to strengthen community ties between those who need help, and those that can help.  This increases the likelihood that those who are homeless will be able to find and maintain a safe, permanent home.
