Specific Need

Our specific need is to continue and strengthen our Night Shelter Program for individuals and families experiencing homelessness in our community. The program provides more than a safe place to sleep; it creates a pathway from homelessness to shelter, and from shelter to stable housing. By expanding our hours of operation toward 24-hour support, we can increase case management, connect each person with community resources and essential services, and equip them with the tools needed to move toward self-sufficiency.

Mission

Fresh Start’s mission is to help individuals and families facing homelessness move from crisis to safety, stability, and hope. Through temporary emergency shelter, case management, and collaboration with community partners, we connect people to the resources, essential services, and guidance they need to take the next step toward stable housing. Our vision is to be a trusted bridge between those experiencing homelessness and the network of people, services, and opportunities that can help them rebuild their lives. We serve every person with dignity, respect, and compassion, without discrimination.

Profile

In addition to safe shelter for the homeless, we provide showers, laundry access, clothing, hygiene items, and case management services for day-service only clients by appointment.  This allows us to build trusting relationships with people who may be at-risk of homelessness.  Through these relationships, we can better identify barriers, connect participants with collaborating partners, and strengthen the community ties between those who need help and those who can help. This coordinated support increases each person’s opportunity to move from at-risk or homeless to shelter, from shelter to stability, and ultimately to a safe, permanent home.
