Junction City Main Street

Goal: $15,000.00

Specific Need

Investing in Junction City Main Street is a direct investment to the heart of your community, downtown Junction City. On GROW Green Match Day, gifts between $25 & $1,000 per agency will be matched by 50% up to a maximum of $7,500 per organization until the $145,000 in match money is depleted. These funds will directly support projects executed by our comittees and also assist our general operating expenses. Each of our committees focus on different objectives that create a gateway to a thriving downtown and community.

• Design: Create an inviting, inclusive atmosphere while celebrating and preserving historical character through accessible, people-centered public spaces. This committee focuses hard on the overall beautification of our downtown. In 2023, we were able to assist several business/building owners by providing a reimbursement facade improvement grant. Moving into this next year we plan to focus on flowerbeds, vacant storefront clean-ups, murals and holiday lighting.
• Economic Vitality: Build a diverse economic base by cultivating a strong entrepreneurship ecosystem, encourage investment and welcome new businesses to our downtown. This community focuses on business relationships and business growth in our downtown. In 2024 they plan to provide educational classes for business owners, host a monthly networking opportunity for current/potential business owners and continue to find investors or business owners to join our downtown neighborhood.
• Promotion: Market the downtown's defining assets, host events that support buy-local experiences and communicate our unique story through online promotion. In 2023, this committee hosted events such as a Community Forum, Taste of Culture, WIne & Wassail and Hometown Christmas. We also assisted with the Main Street Market. We also partnered on events such as Freedom Fest, JC Oktoberfest and All Treats Day. Next year, we plan to continue with our set signature events by making them better than the year prior. 
• Organization: Build strong relationships within the community and across sectors to encourage continued engagment and assist with strong organizational and fundraising needs. In the last couple years, this committee focused on building a strong board of directors and assisted with the creation of committees and their members. For the year of 2024, this committee will focus on really organizing each of the committees' projects and pursuing grants to execute projects. They are also rolling out an investors' guide to assist with the funding of our organization for years to come.
